Born and raised in England, I emigrated to Canada in 2017 to change my life, to grow and explore my boundaries. To understand what I could achieve on my own two feet, without any support from family or friends. Canada held much more than a new home, it was my chance to break away from family tradition and achieve my own dreams. I know that sounds rather like a rather cliché thing for an immigrant to say, but it is wholeheartedly true.

Jewellery has always been a passion for me for the last 10 years, the sparkle of diamond rings intrigued an innocence inside me and I became fascinated by jewellery design in its goal to embellish and symbolise one’s love, memory, passion, and style…all encapsulated in a simple design.

Whether I am designing my own jewellery or something unique and bespoke for others, I don’t just see the project as the joining of metal and gemstone –that is what jewellery needs to exist, but what Jewellery is –for me, a way to showcase your own style and beauty.

At the core of everything I do is my client, their happiness first and fore-most, I’m thinking of the end goal  –the smile of the wearer, I believe that every interaction has the opportunity to redefine our very nature, and it’s this sentiment that underpins everything I do; from the interaction with my customers to designing their perfect jewellery piece.

Philip Gilson Jewellery is the product of my many years of hard work and dedication to grow as a creator, to promote my unique creativity and enable my clients to showcase their own signature on the world.
